Child Development Program

Program Description:
The Child Development Program provides center based early intervention services in a group setting for children ages 18 – 36 months who are at risk or show evidence of developmental delays. Children who are born prematurely, prenatally exposed to drugs, or with specific conditions, diagnoses or special needs may qualify for services. A multi-disciplinary team of professionals is assigned to work with the child and family.

  • Trans-disciplinary evaluations
  • Therapy consultation
  • Developmentally appropriate activities in all areas of development
  • Consultation by professionals in child development (Spanish translation available)
  • Integration with typically developing peers
  • Parent training and information
  • Parent education/resource/referral
  • Regularly scheduled parent education and support groups
  • Daily snacks
  • Morning and afternoon sessions
  • Ratios of 1:3

Eligibility Requirements:
  • Experiencing a delay in two or more areas of development or at risk of delay or diagnosed with an established disability
  • Between the ages of 18 – 36 months
  • Ready to socialize with other children
  • Medically stable to participate with other children
How to Enroll:
  1. Through a referral source or by arranging an appointment with the director of the program
  2. Complete an admissions packet, available at the facility
  3. Individuals are welcome to schedule a tour of the program site prior to enrollment

Funding Information:
  • Early Intervention is a program provided under Part C of IDEA. Here in the State of California, services are provided under California’s Early Start Program. 
  • Regional Center of Orange County and private pay
Other Services Offered:
CDP also offers an afternoon program for children without disabilities, ages 2 – 5 years, who can benefit from being around other children to improve their socialization, communication, movement, and cognitive skills. This program is offered either Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 1:00pm – 3:30pm, or Tuesday and Thursday from 1:00pm – 3:30pm.
