Offering year-round outpatient Physical, Aquatic Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapy services for children and adults.
Program Description:
RIO’s Therapy Services are provided by a multidisciplinary team of highly trained and skills physical and occupational therapists, speech and language pathologists. Assisted by a consulting neurologist and referring physicians, the professional staff evaluates and treats patients that may have illness, injury, or brain defects.
RIO offers outpatient rehabilitation for all ages – from neonates to the geriatric population – with conditions such as stroke, head injury, amputation, arthritis, fractures, speech/language and hearing dysfunction, spinal cord injury, multiple sclerosis, developmental delay, laryngectomy, voice disorders, swallowing problems, and stuttering. The common goal is to promote the highest level of functioning for the patient at home, in school, on the job, and in the community.

Aquatic Physical Therapy:
Aquatic Therapy takes place at our Orange campus, where we offer an indoor, heated (90°-92°) therapeutic pool. Aquatic Therapy is an excellent therapeutic, low impact activity for individuals of all abilities. Exercises can be done in either indoor or outdoor pool facilities and consists of cardiovascular endurance and conditioning exercises. These include walking, jogging, jumping, swimming, kicking, and other continuous rhythmic activities that elevate metabolism and improve cardiovascular function.
Buoyancy, hydrostatic pressure, viscosity, and turbulence result in an optimal environment for mobility, strengthening, and pain relief. We can begin rehabilitation sooner in our warm therapeutic pool resulting in a shorter recovery period.
Upon discharge from Aquatic Physical Therapy, clients may transition into any of the following aquatic programs or progress to a land based program here: Water Exercise Program, Water Aerobics Program, Persistence Pool Exercise, Independent Exercise Programs, Family Swim Program, Adapted Swim Instruction, Fibrocise (Fibromyalgia Pool Exercise)
